Before starting the hike, it is worth taking a moment to pause at the Annenkapelle, enjoy the view over Bad Hofgastein, and gather some energy. From there, follow the well-maintained forest road, which steadily ascends through the needle tree-dominated mixed forest. The wide path leads with a gentle incline all the way to the Rastötzenalm. Nestled between the impressive peaks of Geißkarkopf, Frauenkogel, Tennkogel, Gamskarkogel, and Rauchkogel, the alpine pasture with its three huts offers a perfect opportunity to take a break amidst the idyllic mountain scenery.
