Dance:Fest Gastein
Dancing vitalizes, activates, regenerates, inspires and gives you a lot of joie de vivre. This is exactly the spirit you will feel at Tanz:Fest Gastein.
Tanz:Fest Gastein is more than just a festival: it is a dance festival, a dance event lasting several days and, for many guests, a special dance vacation in Austria. Four times a year, dance enthusiasts, singles, couples, beginnersand advanced dancers meet in Bad Hofgastein to discover new dance styles, deepen familiar ones and experience unforgettable dance evenings.
Tanz:Fest Gastein in winter and summer with workshops from Standard and Latin to Discofox, Boogie & LindyHop, Salsa & West Coast Swing. Top dance teachers and trainers ensure unforgettable dance experiences. The evening events offer plenty of opportunity to dance and each promises to be a social highlight in its own right.
Tanz:Fest Gastein Linedance Editionwhich will take place for the first time in 2026. Modern Linedance, Country Linedance and Latin Solo are on the program, Linedance parties in the evening and lots of choreographies from our international Linedance trainers.
Swing Valley Festivalwhich is all about West Coast Swing. Lots of workshops with top instructors from all over the world, beginner boot camps and social dance parties await the West Coast Swing community.
The special thing about Tanz:Fest Gastein: away from the dance floor, there is time for mountains, thermal baths, relaxation and real vacation moments. The Tanz:Fest Gastein Summer Edition offers you a wide-ranging dance program. The dance teachers from Tanzschule Chris from Vienna, Tanzschule Zentz from Saarland, Tanzstern Salzburg and Tanzschule Seidel from Singen will ensure your dance progress and unforgettable dance experiences in Gastein, where the perfect summer vacation awaits you. New trainers are Patrick Seebauer and Julia Kaufmann from UTSC Dance Unity and known from Dancing Stars as well as Michael Geißler from Saalfelden.
The Tanz:Fest Summer Edition combines workshops in indoor locations or on the mountain, relaxation and alpine vacation moments to create a special dance vacation in Austria: versatile workshops, inspiring trainers, atmospheric events in the evening or a few relaxing hours in the Alpentherme Gastein.

All Tanz:Fest Gastein workshops and practice sessions take place in the congress center, the Kursaal or the Festalm in Bad Hofgastein. Newly renovated in 2021, the modern facilities of the congress center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Praxis), the venerable rooms of the Kursaal and the festival location Festalm offer the perfect space for your dance classes and for the many evening events.

Where can I find the workshop timetable for the Tanz:Fest Summer Edition?

Which workshops can I attend with my ticket?
You can attend all workshops that take place on the day on which your ticket is valid. You do not need to register for a workshop in advance.
What workshop levels are there? What are the requirements?
B = Beginner: No prerequisites. Basic steps and simple figures are taught.
1 = Basic knowledge (basic steps and simple figures) in the respective dance is available
2 = Good knowledge of the respective dance is available
3 = Many years of dance experience and dance technique are available.
We ask you to attend the workshops according to your own ability. This way you can get the most out of the workshops.
Where do the workshops take place in summer?
The Tanz:Fest Summer Edition workshops will take place in three different locations in the center of Bad Hofgastein:
- Congress Center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Forum, Praxis),
- Kursaal (Kursaal, Hofgasteinersaal)
- Festalm Gastein
To get from one location to the next, you have to go outside. Please take normal street shoes with you when changing locations! You can get an overview map at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk.
Where do the workshops take place on the mountain at Tanz:Fest Summer Edition? Do they take place in all weathers?
The workshops on the mountain take place in the new restaurant at the Schlossalmbahn mountain station.
Meeting point is 8.45 am at the Schlossalmbahn valley station.
You will receive your ticket for the ascent and descent at the ticket office (ticket included in the All-In Pass, otherwise please pay directly at the ticket office or buy online).
The workshop on the Schlossalm takes place in all weathers !
After the workshop, there is the opportunity to have lunch together at the Hirsch&Maus restaurant.
Is it possible to film the workshop content for your own use?
At the end of each workshop you have the opportunity to film the lesson content (step sequences, figures). Please note that recordings of any kind (sound, video) are only permitted during the time defined by the dance teachers. Publication of the recordings is NOT permitted!
Do I need a dance partner for the Tanz:Fest Summer Edition?
Couple dances are taught in most workshops.
A dance partner is of course not absolutely necessary, but it makes sense to have a dance partner.
Of course, anyone can dance together - whether man/woman, woman/woman or man/man. Nowadays we talk about followers and leaders anyway.
I don't have a dance partner - are there cab dancers?
There are no cab dancers.
If you are looking for a dance partner, you are welcome to use our Facebook community. Write your ad under the post "Dance partner wanted". When and where do the evening events at Tanz:Fest Summer Edition take place?
- White Night at the Festalm: Start 7.30 pm in the Festalm Gastein. The motto of the evening is "Gastein in white"
- Village People Festival: from 19.00 at Kaiser Franz Platz (bad weather Kursaal)
- Latin Pool Party: from 16.00 Warm Up, 18.00 Workshop, 19.00 Latino Pool Party, Alpentherme Gastein ( bad weather: Congress Center)
- Hof:Ball Dinner, Dance & Show: from 6.30 pm, Kursaal Bad Hofgastein
- Hof:Ball Dance & Show: from 20.00 hrs, Kursaal Bad Hofgastein
- Farewell Cocktail Party: for all those who want to round off the Tanz:Fest Gastein with a cozy drink. Congress Center Bad Hofgastein.
Can I have dinner at the evening events at Tanz:Fest Summer Edition?
At every evening event there is the possibility of at least a snack.
If you have booked dinner at your hotel and are eating out, don't forget to let reception know to cancel your dinner.
Do I have to register for the side events (guided hike, forest bathing) at the Tanz:Fest Summer Edition?
