For the eleventh time, the Salzburg Museum Weekend 2026 invites you to discover the exciting world of museums with free entry! Under the motto "Museum connects in a diverse world" numerous museums in the city and region of Salzburg will open their doors on May 16 and 17, 2026 and present a diverse special program.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, 13 institutions in the extended urban area of the state capital will create a diverse program with creative activities for young and old.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, 56 regional museums, collections, and exhibition houses in all districts invite you to exciting educational offers, interactive stations, and special insights. Look forward to new exhibitions, interactive actions, inspiring perspectives, and surprising encounters.

Finissage of the diploma exhibition by DI Maximilien Greinwald: "A hot core that carries everything. An intervention for the spa town of Bad Gastein".
Princes, clergy, workers, farmers, or artists – all came together for a common act: the act of healing and deceleration in the thermal baths of Bad Gastein.
3 pm – Church Square of the Parish Church of Saints Primus and Felizian
On this day, the Gastein Museum will launch a new series of guided tours on the architecture of Bad Gastein. As a kickoff, the first architectural tour will take place: "About vaults, wooden construction and the first signs of a Gastein expression".
