The former Grand Hotel Astoria is a place with a special aura: shaped by history, character, and grandeur. This year, it is also the location where a new format unfolds with ASTORIA curated x art:badgastein. The sixth edition of art:badgastein, the Invitational Art Fair of summer.fresh.art., is expanded by ASTORIA curated to include the dimensions of space, design, and architecture. In the former hotel rooms, thirteen international galleries - both established and emerging - present their programs along with five solo artists in a directly experiential format. The house itself becomes the structure of the fair and the place of encounter between art, the public, and collectors.
Every step through the corridors, every door that opens brings new discoveries, new perspectives on the presentation of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and installation. One feels less like in an art fair and more like on a special journey of discovery in an alpine setting.
