Dorfgastein in beautiful Salzburger Land is characterized by ideal transport connections - including a wide range of mobility options. Whether you arrive by car or environmentally friendly by train: The journey can be organized smoothly and sustainably. The local hiking bus in summer and the ski bus in winter make it easy to get around.
For guests arriving by car, Dorfgastein is easily accessible via well-developed main roads and highways. From Vienna, you can reach the resort quickly and easily via the A1 and A10. If you are traveling to Dorfgastein via Munich, take the A8 and then the A10. From both directions, leave the highway at the Pongau/Bischofshofen junction.
There is plenty of parking available on site - so you can easily get to the center or to the various leisure and recreational facilities.
Dorfgastein is located on the Tauern railway line and is therefore perfectly connected to the rail network. This provides a direct train connection from the east of Austria as well as from Germany via Salzburg and from Italy via Villach. Dorfgastein train station is only five minutes away from the village center and can be reached quickly by public transport or cab.
The local bus service in Dorfgastein 571 & 572 is well organized, so you can leave your car at home. In winter, the ski bus takes you directly to the valley station of the Fulseck summit lift. Day guests arriving by train from Salzburg use the service to get from the train station to the lifts.
The 550, 553 and 554 bus lines take guests to selected locations in Gastein all year round.
For visitors traveling by electric car, there are several charging stations in Dorfgastein. These are strategically distributed throughout the village to enable convenient use. The current locations and availability of the charging stations can be found on gastein.com.
