Guided hiking tour - Gamskarkogel

Time on trail: appx. 5 hours, gain: 700 m/ loss: 700 m

Perched on the Gamskarkogel is one of the oldest refuge huts in Europe to be erected purely for the use of mountaineers.

In fact, Archduke John had the hut built in 1828. Setting out from Bad Hofgastein we take a taxi to the Rastötzenalm. Crossing lush alpine meadows, you will reach the summit at 2,467 meters. A fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding mountains rewards every drop of sweat you spilled during the hike up. You will hike back down into a cirque at the Rastötzenalm and finally return to Bad Hofgastein.

Free admission with your Gastein Card! You have to pay for the bus, taxi, cable car and consumption.
