A beautiful excursion destination, in the middle of the national park Hohe Tauern, for leisurely hikes or bike tours in all weathers.


Hike through the Hohe Tauern National Park, from the Hoteldorf Grüner Baum, into the beautiful Kötschachtal, where our restaurant and excursion destination Alpenhaus Prossau is located.

In the excursion destination you can enjoy traditional Austrian dishes and delicious strudels in the tranquility of the Hohe Tauern National Park, in our beautiful guest garden. In our guest garden, enjoy a wonderful view of the waterfall, which is located near the head of the valley at the far end of the Kötschachtal in Gastein.

In our restaurant we serve you specialties such as roast pork, farmer's feast, smoked trout, fresh trout (in summer), venison (in winter) and apple strudel as well as curd cheese strudel and much more.


In winter - evenings open on request.
