The Culinary Pathways leading through Salzburger Land are as diverse and multifaceted as the Salzburg weather in April. Extending out along the Via Culinaria like a string of pearls are gourmet restaurants and charming country inns. As different as they all are, they do have one thing in common: The Via Culinaria only accepts those businesses that offer outstanding quality, regionality and authenticity along with professional service, sincere hospitality and dedicated management.
Salzburger Land is often referred to as the "Organic Paradise" and for good reason: No other Austrian province can boast a greater concentration of organic farmers or organic producers. In order to do honor to that distinction, the Via Culinaria Guide features a separate culinary pathway for lovers of organic foods. It leads to some of the province's leading organic addresses - from organic-certified farms to elegant gourmet restaurants. That said, Salzburg isn't only famous for its organic foods: We are also home to the oldest coffeehouses, countless inns with a long and storied history, and to award-winning confectioneries.
Whether you are a gourmet, a meat eater, sweet-tooth, beer drinker, or simply because you appreciate good food in general: The Via Culinara in Salzburger Land offers culinary experiences raised to whole new levels of enjoyment. Plus, it casts a spotlight on some truly beautiful areas of our province, too. According to the old saying, the way to a person's heart is through their stomach. If that applies to you, then you should be forewarned: You are about to fall head over heels in love with Gastein Valley.
