“Time” is the motto of Music in the Alps 2025, the music-festival with international students and professional musicians.
As the artistic director, New York concert pianist and music professor Dr. Irena Portenko invites audiences to attend the twelfth edition of the “Music in the Alps” festival in Bad Gastein.
What began as an idea is now a multifaceted musical event that thrives on commitment, passion and the conviction that music can move and connect people.
This year's motto: Time
2025, the festival is dedicated to the connection between contemporary music and the sounds of past eras. Established artists meet young talents on stage - together they create special musical experiences that link past and present.
New this year: artist talks before the concerts
Get to know the people behind the music. In moderated Q&A sessions, artists provide personal insights into their work, their inspirations and their careers. In August 2025, Music in the Alps offers a varied programme, special venues and musical encounters that will remain in your memory.
