Tanz:Fest Summer
The dance teachers from the Chris dance school in Vienna, the Tanzloft Saarland, the Tanzstern Salzburg and Vadim Garbuzov and Kathrin Menzinger will ensure your dance progress and unforgettable dance experiences in Gastein, where the perfect summer holiday awaits you.
You start in the morning with an upbeat rumba lesson, enjoy the day on the mountain and treat yourself to relaxing hours in the Alpentherme before dinner. In the evening, the next dance highlight awaits you, e.g. hot salsa rhythms at the thermal pool!

All workshops and practice units of Tanz:Fest Gastein take place in the Congress Center, the Kursaal or the Festalm in Bad Hofgastein. Newly renovated in 2021, the top modern facilities of the Congress Center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Praxis), the venerable rooms of the Kursaal and the festival location Festalm offer the perfect space for your dance classes and for the many evening events.

Who can take part in Tanz:Fest Gastein?
All dance enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced dancers. There are workshops for all levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced.
What tickets are available? Where can I buy them?
- All In Passes: 3 days All-In (FR-SO) and 5 days All-In (MI-SO).
- Day passes: 1 day pass (optional), 3 day pass (FR-SO) and 5 day pass (MI-SO)
- Hof:Ball: Dinner, Dance & Show (sales start from 1.6.2025, subject to availability)

How can I book my accommodation?
Book your overnight stay in one of the Tanz:Fest Gastein partner hotels. You can also conveniently book the Tanz:Fest as a "package":

How do I get my Tanz:Fest documents and the Tanz:Fest ribbon?
You will receive the Tanz:Fest Band, the brochure and the tickets for the Hof:Ball at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk in the Congress Center. Please take your booking confirmation (e-mail) with you! The Tanz:Fest Band gives you access to all workshops and events included in your dance pass.
Where can I find the workshop timetable?
In the brochure that you will receive at your "Check In" at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk or online.
Which workshops can I attend with my ticket?
You can attend all workshops that take place on the day on which your ticket is valid. You do not need to register for a workshop in advance.
What workshop levels are there? What are the requirements?
B = Beginner: No knowledge available/required
I = Intermediate: Basic knowledge (basics, basic steps and basic figures) in the respective dance is available.
A = Advanced: Knowledge of approx. one year of dance experience in the respective dance
dance are available. The most common figures and steps should be able to be danced "on call".
Where do the workshops take place?
The workshops take place in three different locations in the center of Bad Hofgastein: The Congress Center (Freiraum, Lichtung, Forum, Praxis), the Kursaal (Kursaal, Hofgasteinersaal) and the Festalm Gastein. To get from one location to the next, you have to go outside. Please take normal street shoes with you when changing locations! You will find a map in your Tanz:Fest brochure.
Where do the workshops take place on the mountain? Do they take place in all weathers?
The workshops on the mountain take place on the yoga platform on the Schlossalm (Schlossalmbahn mountain station). Meeting point 9.00 am at the Schlossalmbahn valley station. You will receive your ticket for the ascent and descent at the ticket office (ticket included in the All-In Pass, otherwise please pay directly at the ticket office or buy online ).
The workshop will only take place if it is not raining. If the workshop is canceled, there will be a post on www.tanzfestgastein.com and in the Facebook community by 8.30 am .
After the workshop, there will be an opportunity to have lunch together at the Kleine Scharte mountain restaurant. To reserve enough seats, please let the Tanz:Fest Info Desk know by the evening before.
Is it possible to film the workshop content for your own use?
At the end of each workshop you have the opportunity to film the lesson content (step sequences, figures). Please note that recordings of any kind (sound, video) are only permitted during the time defined by the dance teacher. Publication of the recordings is NOT permitted!
Do I need a dance partner?
Most workshops teach couple dances. A dance partner is of course not absolutely necessary, but it makes sense to have a dance partner. Of course, anyone can dance together - whether man/woman, woman/woman or man/man. Nowadays we talk about followers and leaders anyway.
I don't have a dance partner - are there cab dancers?
There are no cab dancers.

When and where do the evening events take place?
White Night at the Festalm: Start 7.30 pm in the Festalm Gastein. The motto of the evening is "Gastein in white"
Kaiser Franz Tanzt: from 19:30 at the Kaiser Franz Platz (bad weather Kursaal)
Latin Pool Party: from 16.00 hrs warm up with DJ ThePatrick, 18.00 hrs workshop, 19.00 hrs Latino Pool Party, Alpentherme Gastein
Hof:Ball Dinner, Dance & Show: from 6.30 pm, Kursaal Bad Hofgastein
Hof:Ball Dance& Show: from 8.00 pm, Kursaal Bad Hofgastein
Farewell Cocktail: for all those who want to round off the Tanz:Fest Gastein with a cozy drink. Location to be announced.
Can I have dinner at the evening events?
At every evening event there is the possibility to have at least a snack. If you have booked dinner at your hotel and are eating out, don't forget to let reception know to cancel your dinner.
Do I have to register for the side events (guided hike, forest bathing)?
Please register for the side events at the Tanz:Fest Info Desk by . All important information about the side events is also available at the Info:Desk. Participation is free with the Tanz:Fest Band.
What is the dress code?
Workshops
in the hall: sporty or casual, the way you prefer to come to dance lessons.
on the mountain: Warm clothing and sturdy shoes or sneakers (no dance shoes!)

Are drinks available at the workshop locations?
You can buy drinks at the workshop locations or, of course, bring your own. You can also fill up your own drinks bottle with tap water.

You lie in loose clothing on a rubber mat on a warm waterbed. The hydrojet massage relieves tension and loosens the muscles. It also stimulates the circulation and increases the metabolism.

Radon thermal taster bath
approx. 20 min. + approx. 20 min. relaxation time
To get to know the healing effects of Gastein's famous thermal water (a visit to the doctor is not necessary for a one-off trial treatment). The natural warmth and ingredients have a beneficial effect on muscles and joints and are therefore perfect for quick regeneration and relaxation.
