Franziska Stünkel
Photographic Artist, Film Director & Screenwriter
Franziska Stünkel is an award-winning filmmaker and photographic artist. Her feature films—including the internationally acclaimed “Nahschuss” starring Lars Eidinger—have premiered in cinemas around the world and won numerous awards.
For more than 15 years, she has been traveling globally for her ongoing street photography series Coexist, which was published as a fine art photography book by Kehrer Verlag. Her photographic works are exhibited internationally and represented in public collections, including the Sprengel Museum.
Stünkel serves on juries and curatorial boards, including the Hannah Arendt Curatorium, and regularly gives lectures and teaches photography and film both in Germany and abroad. She is a member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh) and the German Film Academy.
She studied Fine Arts and graduated as a master student under Professor Uwe Schrader.
