The House of Crystals offers insight into the fascinating and magnificent world of minerals.

Passion produces some truly beautiful things. That is something that Fritz Petutschnig could probably write a book about. For longer than anyone can remember, the people of Gastein have got particular pleasure out of hunting for hidden crystals, pulling them out of the dark depths in which they have grown for millions of years, then putting them on display in showcases where everyone can marvel at their astonishing beauty.

It was this passion, coupled with a desire to make these treasures from the mountains accessible to other people, that motivated the creation of this mineral museum known as the "House of Crystals" in Bad Hofgastein.

Visitors are able to peruse a cross-section of finds from throughout Gastein Valley, including quartz, adularia, calcites and many other crystalline works of art created by Mother Nature. Enjoy a timeout, give yourself a treat and allow these magnificent crystals, with their intrinsic power and beauty, to work their wonders on you.
