There will be a touch of Alaska in the air when the world elite in sled dog sport meet in snow-sure Sportgastein for the races from 7.-9.3.2025. Hundreds of sled dogs will be howling excitedly at the start of the middle-distance and sprint races, creating an atmospheric soundscape for this top event.
Up to 150 competitors from around 20 nations will take part in the World Championships in Gastein!
Spectators will be up close and personal with free admission directly on the course. In the teams' paddock, the "Stake-Out", you can look over the shoulders of the mushers as they prepare, care for the sled dogs, wax the skis and harness them. Spectator dogs may not be taken into the Stake-Out. The start and finish area is located in front of the Valeriehaus, where you can admire spectacular starts and cheer on the athletes as they cross the finish line.

The start and finish area is located at the start of the cross-country ski trail in Sportgastein.
Important: Dog owners should keep their four-legged friends on a lead and not go directly onto the course.
