Triathlon is only a summer sport? Wrong! Here in Gastein, even during the coldest season of the year you can push yourself to your personal limit up in the mountains and feel that raw team spirit coursing through your veins – at the Winter Triathlon in Sportgastein!

On your marks, set, go! Surrounded by the majestic mountains of Hohe Tauern National Park, competitive teams gather in Gastein Valley for the Winter Triathlon, testing their mettle as they go head-to-head. Whether a corporate event, family experience or a sporting challenge enjoyed with friends: At the Winter Triathlon in Gastein, all the teams have their eyes squarely on the trophy as they compete in traditional winter sports disciplines:

ski mountaineering
alpine skiing
cross-country skiing

Here’s how the Winter Triathlon in Gastein works

This multi-sport race is designed as a relay for everyone. It begins at the valley station of the Goldbergbahn with an initial leg for skiing mountaineers. After that, the downhiller in each team takes over and tackles a freeride run back to the valley. At the bottom, the “baton” is handed to the team’s cross-country specialist who, powered by that unmistakable “Nordic Spirit”, will complete the final 5 km along an alpine cross-country trail. A great atmosphere as well as a first-rate side program including music, food & drink add the perfect finishing touches to this highlight event in Sportgastein. The entry fee per team (3 people) is € 135, of which € 20 is donated to "Wings for Life".
